Planting
Choose dappled or partial shade with moist, well-drained soil. Avoid deep shade, and allow its underground stems room to creep through a shaded border or woodland planting.
Care
Keep the soil from drying out. Divide established plants to extend the ground cover, and check the foliage for occasional slug or snail damage.
Before planting: Leaves and roots are toxic; consider access by children and pets when choosing a site.
