Planting
Plant in a shaded border or woodland bed with organically rich, moist, well-drained soil. Check the cultivar's mature size and flowering season before combining several varieties.
Care
Maintain moisture in hot weather, especially in sunnier positions. Divide clumps about every four years in spring or autumn; leave ornamental seedheads standing if you enjoy their winter shape.
Before planting: Dry soil during hot weather can cause foliage to decline.
