Planting
Choose full sun and a freely draining site. Its preference for hot, dry conditions makes it suitable for a rock garden or an open perennial border.
Care
Provide extra water during a prolonged drought, while avoiding waterlogged roots. Watch for seedlings if you want to keep the planting contained; it can reseed freely.
Before planting: Wear gloves when handling the hairy stems and leaves, which can irritate skin.
