Planting
Plant in light shade or partial sun in rich, loamy soil with plenty of organic matter. A sunnier site needs enough moisture to prevent the plant drying out.
Care
Shear back untidy foliage to reshape the clump after it declines in summer heat. Watch young growth for slug or snail damage in shaded planting.
Before planting: Leaves may yellow during the hottest part of summer.
