Planting
Choose partial to deep shade with moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Allow for a wide mature clump; sunnier positions work in cooler climates only when moisture remains reliable.
Care
Remove spent flower stems after blooming and cut discoloured leaves at ground level. Divide in spring or autumn if required, ideally before the leaves unfold in early spring.
Before planting: Slugs and snails can damage the foliage.
