Planting
For the best flowering and autumn colour, choose sun and moist, slightly acidic, fertile soil. It also tolerates partial shade and periodic flooding.
Care
Prune after flowering because the next flowers form on older growth. Occasionally remove the oldest stems to encourage fresh shoots, and avoid overfeeding.
Before planting: Root suckers can form a dense colony; allow room for the shrub to spread.
