Planting
Plant in full sun or partial sun with freely draining soil. Its upright growth works among other perennials in cottage borders or in a looser meadow planting.
Care
Divide established clumps in spring or autumn if more plants are wanted. Allow for self-seeding, and check for unwanted seedlings around the parent plant.
Before planting: Poor drainage can cause crown and root rot, especially where the soil stays wet through winter.
