Planting
Choose sun or partial shade and well-drained sandy loam or rocky soil. It can sit in a shrub border, informal group or slope planting where its roots help hold soil.
Care
Choose its long-term position carefully and avoid moving an established plant; the deep root system makes transplanting difficult. Once established, it tolerates periods of drought.
Before planting: Wet soil can lead to root rot.
