Planting
Plant in full sun and dry, sandy soil with excellent drainage. It fits rock walls, gravel-style planting and containers better than heavy ground that holds water.
Care
Keep drainage clear in containers and rock-garden pockets, particularly through winter. This drought-tolerant plant needs a dry site.
Before planting: Wet winters can prevent it from returning. Evergreen foliage is mainly a feature of milder winter climates.
