Planting
Choose sun or partial shade and well-drained soil with reasonable moisture. Allow space around clumps in a pollinator border to keep air moving between stems.
Care
Remove spent flowers to tidy the plant and possibly extend flowering. Thin crowded stems for airflow and water during drought stress, which can increase susceptibility to disease.
Before planting: A short-lived perennial; powdery mildew and rust can develop late in the season.
