Planting
Choose full sun for the best flowers and fruit, with room for a large shrub or thicket. It tolerates dry and damp sites, including occasional flooding.
Care
Remove root suckers when you want to keep a defined shrub. Leave them where a spreading hedge or colony suits the space, such as an informal mixed border.
