Planting
Choose full sun for the most flowers, or partial shade. It accepts sandy to clay soils and prefers moisture with good drainage, though established plants also tolerate drier conditions.
Care
Prune in spring to keep growth within its intended space. Allow for a slow start and watch for shoots spreading from the underground stems.
Before planting: Contact with the sap can cause photosensitivity in some people; wear gloves when pruning.
