Planting
Choose full sun and dry to moderately moist, well-drained soil. It tolerates poor ground and drought, but needs water to move freely away from the roots.
Care
Cut back stems after flowering if self-seeding is unwanted, or leave them for seed to ripen. Seed-grown plants normally bloom in their second year.
Before planting: It may become dormant in summer. Wet, poorly drained soil can cause root rot.
