Planting
Choose sun or partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. It fits woodland margins, cottage borders and meadow planting, with some tolerance of occasional dry conditions.
Care
This clumping species generally needs little upkeep once suited to its site. Keep an eye on foliage for occasional rust; seeds left on the plant provide food for songbirds.
